Hello…my name is Lisa Malvesi. I am a 40-year-old mother of two wonderful boys – Tyler (8) and Devan (4). I share with you my journey to becoming a Fit40Mom and hope that it will inspire people. Not just women, mothers or other forty year olds because we can be fit at any age. All you have to do is want it.

My life changed a few years ago,. Who doesn’t want to look like those girls in the Shape magazines. I remember wanting to look like Linda Hamilton from the movie “Terminator 2” or Angela Bassett from “What’s Love Got to Do with It.” I always admired women with muscular definition. I always wanted to go for it but never did it. In my 20s, I was too busy having fun with friends. Who had time to eat right and exercise?

With not being happy with my body I tried the latest fad diets. This caused ups and downs in my weight. Having children did not help my situation either. I used my first pregnancy as a license to eat and gained a whopping 70 lbs. I lost most of the weight but was still was not happy with my body. It wasn’t until the jaw-dropping end of my marriage coupled with depression that I realized I needed to get my life and health back in order.

Lisa took 1st place at the Empire States Beginner figure short. 2nd in Classic figure… 1st in INFB Novice Figure short 1st in Novice Masters then took the Overall for Novice Group.

It was time to go after my dream. I starting eating clean meals on a regular basis – six meals per day and it changed my life. Not to mention it benefited my workouts and weight training efforts. My muscles grew. My fat was melting and it was amazing! Even my mental health improved. I wasn’t as depressed anymore. Endorphins are great by the way!

After being approached by several people to compete in bodybuilding, I decided to hire a nutritionist to help me with my new found mission – to train for figure competitions. That is when he had me try Quest Natural Bars. Other bars on the market claimed to be healthy but they are loaded with sugar or other unnatural additives that screw up hormonal balance. Quest didn’t have any of that. They were clean, healthy and the best part is that they tasted great! I would have a Quest Bar for my meal 4 with a nice cup of coffee. Chocolate Peanut butter, Cinnamon Roll and Strawberry Cheesecake being my favorites.. It was like having a dessert mid-day to get me through my 3 p.m. slump at work. I would take them with me to parties when everyone was eating cake and cookies. I would pull out my Quest Bar and be completely satisfied. And for me, a total sugarholic, to be satisfied, you know it’s got to be good.

Now, I don’t worry about being in those situations anymore. And with their Cravings line, I’m in heaven. I can go to the movies and eat the Peanut Butter Cups and feel like I’m eating candy! To be honest, it tastes just as good as the junk that is out there and it’s loaded with protein which my body needs. I am so happy to be a part of letting you know how amazing their products are and how they keep me on track with guilt free goodies. If you don’t believe me, here are my trophies to prove it…and the trophies I am most proud of – my two boys!

Anything is possible. Achieve it!
