As a Public Health Science major at the University of California, Irvine, I’ve come to learn that being healthy and fit boils down to much more than your appearance. Toned legs, chiseled abs, and buff biceps…just to name a few 😉
The healthy and fit lifestyle really does goes way beyond that. Preventative measures. Living a healthy and fit lifestyle reduces cancer risks, diseases, depression and so much more. I’ve been asked by Thomas Jefferson Elementary School District in Anaheim, CA to speak to 60 6th grade boys and girls about the benefits of living a healthy and fit life. I am ecstatic! Why? Because I am a true believer that introducing health and fitness into a child’s life at an early age will help it stick, as opposed to introducing it later in life. It’s important to show positive influence to these children that look up to us so as they grow older it is viewed as a normal way of living. I’m excited to spread my love through health and fitness that will lead these children to a longer and healthful life.
Pictures from the event will be posted soon!
