Here I sit approximately three weeks out from another step in my fitness journey. As I finish preparation, I can’t help but think how thankful I am to be blessed with gifts to help others and love every minute of it. It is absolutely rewarding to be able to live your life and fulfill your purpose and even more rewarding to be able to help others do the same.

In this four-part series on my Quest to the 2011 USA’s I’ll show you what I consider to be the core focuses of the fitness lifestyle. They are; Mental, Physical, and Emotional. You cannot be complete and enjoy well-rounded growth without having these three synergistic elements working in harmony. So… Without further ado, I bring you Part 1 of my QUEST to the 2011 USA’s.

MENTAL – It’s More than Physical:

The creed that I live my life by is “Stay Strong; It is more than Physical”. Anybody who knows me, knows that this is my overall message and fitness is just the medium. It isn’t about a single day, a single aspect of what you do, or even a single feeling that you have. It is more than all of these things and most certainly more than physical. If you do not have your mind going in a positive, healthy direction, then how can you expect to receive positive outcomes? Ultimately, you won’t. You may in the short term, but it will eventually run out. That is why it is so important to, above all, love what you do. If you don’t, what have you gained?

My results are in direct relation to my love for what I do. That’s why it’s all about the journey. While I may be 17 days out from competing in the largest NPC Competition in the country, I am ultimately 25,000 days out from the rest of my life (that is, if I only live to be 100).

Am I excited for the USA’s? You better believe it! I’m SO excited that I don’t want to sleep. The reason for my excitement is that the USA’s are an important and amazing step in my journey to living and loving the fitness lifestyle.

Take time to think about what you are doing. If you are not truly happy then it is time to make some changes. Think big picture and realize that the right now leads us to our tomorrow, and our tomorrow eventually leaves behind our legacy. I’ll never stop doing all that I can to use my gifts. True passion is undeniable when you are around it. I plan on showing my passion everyday of the journey.

It’s not about the Trophy, it’s about the Journey.

Thank you all for taking the time to travel with me as I head to the US. And remember – Stay Strong; It’s more than Physical!
