The 8 Types of People You’ll Meet At An eSports Event

Quest Gaming

Meet the many faces of eSports. Which ones do you recognize?

Over 10,000 fans attended the League of Legends Spring Finals Championships at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. We caught up with some of the members in the community to get their take on the fandom surrounding eSports and what it’s like to be at a live eSport event. Who are the fans? Where do they come from? Why are they here??

Sloane "Skipper" Wolfe gives the thumbs up in front of the CLG backdrop
“I’m an ADC main because I like to kill people very quickly”. The true mark of an eSports vet!

Our first eSports interviewee is the one that’s “been there, done that.” Sloane “Skipper” Wolf has been playing League of Legends since 2011 and her peak rank was Platinum 5. She came to Las Vegas to support Counter Logic Gaming and we caught up with her right after her boys in black and blue took down TSM.

What are you doing here?: I’m a fan of CLG and I came here to support them!

How was your overall experience?: I actually got chills from the audience ’cause it was so awesome and everything was just so exciting! This is probably the best eSport experience I’ve ever been to.

Biggest lesson learned through League?: Don’t get angry. It’s just a game and at the end of the day you can always win back what you lose!

How do you feel right now?: So excited because CLG won and Stixxay is the best ADC ever! Go CLG!!
